Gold Medal

This is always a welcome word for any achievement. This year I am working towards my EFIAP designation from the International Federation of Photographic Art, which has several requirements. The first is to have 200 acceptances in 20 countries with 40 works (images). Currently, there is no requirement for any of these to be from prints, which was a previous requirement.
I am doing well with acceptances and images (almost 300 works, and 1100 acceptances) but I needed to have acceptances from 20 different countries. In general, I don’t usually enter many International Exhibitions. The price has to be right, the quality of the institution running the salon has to be reasonable, the recognition and the number of awards need to be acceptable to me. I enter images to get a feel for their quality, but also to earn points for FIAP and PSA. These designations help my reputation when I am speaking or teaching.
To achieve this goal, I entered several countries and salons I wasn’t familiar with to gather the acceptances in different countries. I now have two gold medals from Nigeria and one from Hong Kong. It feels good to have my works stand out. My EFIAP application is in the works.
