Representing Canada 2022

Canada, through CAPA (Canadian Association for Photographic Art) competes yearly with inter photographic societies  in the Four Nations Competition. This year the image “Killer Fin” (above)was selected to join 79 other images from across the country.

This Orca Whale surfaced just behind our boat. As the captain shut the engine down, the whale came under our boat and surfaced on the far side.  I was able to capture a quick shot of his dorsal fin at close range. This image was taken with at 600mm, F4, 1/1250sec.

The results of the Four-Nations Competiiton will be available by September 2022. This is the third image by Leah Gray selected for the Four Nations Competition by CAPA. The other two images are Wild Dance (2019) and Lead Mare (2021).
