Photography Classes

We are pleased to offer photography classes in the greater Victoria area at the Panorama Recreation Centre in North Saanich. Instruction will be given by Leah Gray and, Steve Smith , 

  • Photography: Beyond the Basics: Three sessions April 13th, 27th and May4th ($265). Classes will be at Greenglade Community Centre (2151 Lannon Way, Sidney, B.C.) weekly on Sundays (excluding Easter Sunday). Registration is through Panorama Recreation.

    This course builds on our Introduction to Photography class. Students should be familiar with the exposure triangle and should be very comfortable changing the settings on their camera. Different genres of photography such as landscape and portraits will be explored and we will present and discuss the creative use of filters, panorama stitching, HDR, focus stacking and the addition of artificial light. Other topics covered include composition, depth of field, and focus. Participants will be encouraged to bring images for review and feedback.

  • Introduction to Photography. Fall, 2025. Classes will be at Greenglade Community Centre (2151 Lannon Way, Sidney, B.C.) weekly on Sundays. 

    Get to know your DSLR or equivalent mirrorless camera. Explore your camera settings and leave auto settings behind. Learn the ins and outs of the exposure triangle, composition and the properties of light. Bring your camera and user manual. This course is geared to adults. Please review the method of changing your ISO, shutter speed and aperture on your camera before the class. Embrace the art of capturing better images.

  • Discover Light in Photography. Fall 2025. Classes will be at Greenglade Community Centre (2151 Lannon Way, Sidney, B.C.) weekly on Sundays.
